Abstract
Information and communication Technology managed to transform communication process around the globe tremendously. ICT increased organization communications’ speed and reduced communication cost. As communication become the backbone to the organization performance, so the ICT to the communication performance. Using Morogoro Regional Commissioner Office as a case the study examined the influence of e-government on organization communication performance, aiming to assess the implementation of e-government at MRCO and how e-government influenced communication process within the organization (G2E), to identify challenges facing the implementation and integration of e-government on organization communication process at MRCO, and to suggest ways to overcome the identified challenges in order to have improved organization communication through designed e-government projects. A sample of 38 equal to 38.3% respondents was drawn from the total population of 102 employees. 35 employees were picked randomly and 3 interviewees were purposively selected. Data were collected through the use of Interview, questionnaire, document review and observation. Data analysis was conducted through the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS V.20). It was found that e-government was implemented and integrated on organization communication process at MRCO, and it was concluded that e-government at MRCO managed to improve communication process significantly. Various challenges of e-governments faced MRCO in the implementation such as insufficient number of ICT technical staffs, addiction to social media, low internet quality and access, inadequate number of ICT devices, shortage of electric supply, online security threat, low employees ICT knowledge and poor condition of ICT infrastructure were identified. To tackle the identified challenges it was suggested that there was a great need to provide e-government training to employees, increasing number of ICT devices, increasing number of ICT technical staffs, improving the quality of internet, adequate ICT budget, discouraging the use of social media for office communication, website updating, provision of wireless internet network and finding backup generator for reliable electric power.
