The study recommends that the government of Tanzania should insist on application of electronic systems in procurement activities throughout the public institutions in order to achieve the advantages which the private organizations obtain in using electronic systems. Furthermore academicians should conduct more researches concerning application of electronic systems in procurement activities which in turn will stimulate adoption of e-procurement in ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the government and private operations.enElectronic Business PracticesAnalysis of VarianceElectronic Data InterchangeEnterprise Resource PlanningInformation and Communication TechnologyInnovation Diffusion TheoryInformation TechnologyPublic Procurement ActPublic Procurement Regulatory AuthorityPublic Procurement Oversight AuthorityProcurement Management UnitTransaction Cost EconomicsE-Inventory Management SystemsSupermarket Procurement FunctionE-procurementE-paymentDiffusion of Innovation TheoryTransaction Cost Economics TheoryContribution of electronic business practices on performance of supermarket procurement function in Tanzania : A case of selected supermarkets in Dar es SalaamThesis
